So tragically sad to see that we have no respect for the land – it maintains us, secures our lives and enjoyment, and in this case is sacred ancestral land to the Tohono O’odham.
I am 67 yrs old, and have been riding horses on the trail in about the same area that the girl is running.
I hope people from Tucson and the community in Sonoita will write their elected officials before it is too late. Damage is already being done to the West side, absolutely terrible, and to think they are just scratching the surface!
Powerful images and narrative produced by filmmaker Leslie Ann Epperson. Time is running out as Hudbay continues to destroy our environment, ancestral sacred lands and the pastoral quality of life. We should all be concerned and recognize “it is in our backyard!” Thanks to SSSR for their concentrated efforts to stop the destruction and raise awareness.
