Hudbay, a Canadian mining company, has plans to develop a copper mining project consisting of 6 open pits straddling the northern ridge of the Santa Ritas. This project includes plans to dumping mine tailings consisting of toxic waste rock as close as 1 1/2 miles from an elementary school and hundreds of feet from homes.
The time to act is now!
