San Carlos Apache opinion: Why is Arizona giving away groundwater to mining in a water crisis?

Terry Rambler, Chairman of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, wrote a compelling letter to the editor of the Los Angeles Times. He points out that some backroom deals would give the two mining companies behind the proposed Resolution Copper Mine more than $400 million worth of groundwater. Free!

Sounds like what we see proposed here in the Santa Ritas where Hudbay expects to use 13 million gallons of water a day. All free.
